OUR STORY
AA Elite Rugby Coaching was founded in 2015. We began our journey in South West London whilst playing in the Aviva Premiership, with the aim to provide the most up to date and relevant coaching to aspiring young players.
Alan Awcock and Alex Davies both played at London Welsh RFC winning the RFU Championship and extending contracts to play at the highest level in Europe. They started running youth training sessions, alongside rugby camps in the holiday periods. The sessions proved to be extremely popular, and have since continued to gain momentum since the company was formed.

We believe that all children should have the opportunity to play and develop their sport, which is why AA Elite Rugby provides the vehicle and environment for participants to engage and learn skills for life.
Full-time professional rugby players and coaches operate our company and we offer a unique and contemporary approach to coaching rugby within the sports industry. Not only will the participants gain an insight into a daily lifestyle of a professional player, they will also learn the proficiency, skills, commitment and demands it takes to be a full-time athlete, all whilst maintaining a balance with the enjoyment of the game..

MEET OUR COACHES
Alan Awcock
Alongside my current role as Head of Rugby at Magdalen College School in Oxford, I am a Level 3 RFU Coach with Wasps Junior Academy, as well as a Backs and Skills coach at Henley Hawks RFC.
Prior to this, I played professional rugby in England over four seasons in the Aviva Premiership, European Cup and Green King RFU Championship with London Welsh RFC. Before moving over the border, I spent three seasons playing in the BUCS Super League with UWIC RFC and was also selected to represent England Students; all at the same time as studying for my Degree and Masters Degree in Sports Science. I played a further four seasons in Wales with Newport RFC, in the Welsh Premiership, also representing the Welsh Crawshay’s.
I have also represented Henley Hawks RFC in the National Leagues, before starting my National League coaching journey with them.
Not only have I represented some great clubs and toured all over the world with invitational 7’s teams, but I have also had the opportunity to play alongside international players and experience world-class coaching. Rugby has provided me with some of my most fond memories, lifelong friendships and given me the opportunity to build a career I am extremely passionate about.
All of the skills and lessons I have acquired through my career I use in developing coaching practices and cultures within rugby, sharing these with schools, clubs and individuals.
Alex Davies
For the past 14 years I have been a Professional Rugby Player, most recently finishing two years with Bath rugby club in the Gallagher Premiership. I have now transitioned to semi professional rugby with Rosslyn Park Rugby Club as well as a full-time rugby coach at Hurstpierpoint College. My playing career afforded me some incredible experiences playing in the Aviva and Gallagher Premiership, European Cup, The Green king IPA Championship and 2 seasons playing in the AA Heartland Championship in New Zealand. My previous clubs include Yorkshire Carnegie, Ealing Trailfinders, London Welsh, Green Island (NZ) Plymouth Albion, North Otago (NZ) and Sale Sharks Academy.
During my time as a professional rugby player, I gained a vast amount of experience playing rugby at the highest level in different hemispheres. I was fortunate to play with and be coached by some of the greatest players and coaches in world rugby. With this experience I am extremely passionate about passing on my knowledge to any young aspiring and ambitious rugby players.
I am a Level 3 RFU & Level 2 NZRFU rugby coach. I currently coach a variety of clients ranging from Minis, national league rugby players, senior academy players and some of the countries leading independent schools rugby stars all the way up to full international rugby players.
